Faculty of Social Sciences offers study programmes within archivistics, library and information science, journalism and media studies, social work, social policy and child welfare, public management and business.

The Department of Journalism and Media Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences (SAM) OsloMet has a vacancy for two temporary PhD Research Fellows. The positions are connected to the PhD programme at Department of Journalism and Media Studies
The department of Journalism and Media Studies is looking for candidates with an interest in and the potential to contribute to the development of research on journalism media production, and communication.
Applicants should have research interests that resonate with ongoing research and educational activities at the department. Through their application letter and project proposal, candidates are expected to demonstrate how they will contribute to the enhancement of one or more of the following research areas:
The appointments are for a period of 3 years, in special cases a 4 year’s period with 25% teaching and administrative duties may be negotiated. PhD Research Fellows must be admitted by the Faculty of Social Sciences' PhD programme and will benefit from the faculty’s organized research training.
The successful fellow is expected to pursue independent research under supervision, based on the project proposal. The position requires participation in the Faculty of Social Sciences' organised research education programme (PhD programme).
The project proposal must consist of a maximum of 10 pages, positioning your project, and giving a description of your planned research. The research proposal will be an important part of the assessment and must demonstrate how the project will lead to a doctoral degree within the designated period.

In addition, experience from research projects and publishing in academic journals will be an advantage. The applicants will also be assessed on the project’s quality, research timeliness, innovation, academic relevance to the academic environment at the department and affiliation to academic networks outside the department.
Admission to the Faculty of Social Sciences’ doctoral programme is a prerequisite and a final project plan for the fellowship period is required completed and acknowledged within 3 months after accession.
