Oslo Metropolitan University is Norway's third largest university with almost 22,000 students and over 2,500 employees. We have campuses in central Oslo and at Romerike. OsloMet educates students and conducts research that contributes to the sustainability of the Norwegian welfare state and the metropolitan region.
The Faculty of Technology, Art and Design (TKD) offers higher education and research and development (R&D) activities within technical subjects, arts and design. The Faculty has approximately 4.000 students and 400 staff members and is situated at Pilestredet Campus in downtown Oslo and at Kjeller Campus in Viken.
The Department of Computer Science offers three bachelor’s degree programmes, a master’s degree programme, and is part of a cross-departmental PhD program. Academic staff at the department are pursuing research in a wide range of areas including computer science, the natural sciences, and innovation and management. Both students and researchers are also involved in an increasing number of interdisciplinary initiatives across the university.
The department of Computer Science has a 100% permanent position as Associate Professor in Cybersecurity. The position is available from 1 August 2024.
The Department is in a period of increasing activities in several subject areas, including cyber security. The department is further developing its study portfolio and a new specialization in cyber security will start this autumn, within the master’s program Applied Data and Information Technology (ACIT), to meet increasing demand from society for this type of competence. We are looking for an innovative, creative and responsible candidate who is able to contribute to teaching, research and development in cyber security, with a focus on information security, data protection and privacy, political and societal implications of cyber security. The candidate must show commitment to the development and innovation of relevant study programs, develop own courses and teaching content, and collaborate in research with national and international partners.
Persons who at the time of employment do not have sufficient skills in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language will be offered training in Norwegian, and must be able to demonstrate Norwegian skills at least equivalent to level B2 within three years from the time of employment.
The applicant must document relevant educational competence in accordance with OsloMet’s Guidelines for the assessment of educational competence at OsloMet.

The position is paid in accordance with the Norwegian State main tariff agreements and OsloMet's salary policy in position code 1011 Associate professor NOK. 615 700 – 745,000. For particularly well-qualified applicants, a higher salary can be considered. From the salary, 2% will be deducted in pension contributions for the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund (SPK).
