Oslo Metropolitan University is Norway's third largest university with almost 22,000 students and over 2,500 employees. We have campuses in central Oslo and at Romerike. SPS develops the study of professions as a multidisciplinary field of research, comprising research from a wide range of disciplines. SPS aims to be a leading centre for research and graduate study within the study of professions in the Nordic countries.
At the Centre for the Study of Professions, there is a vacancy for a professor in digitalisation of education starting September 2021.
The centre is a leading environment for research and researcher education in the field, and hosts an interdisciplinary PhD programme in the study of professions. We are looking for an ambitious candidate who will strengthen our research and teaching in the field of digitalisation of education. Your work will be part of the university's research strategy related to digitalisation, and will contribute to the development of high-quality national and international research projects. The centre offers courses for OsloMet’s employees in university pedagogy and PhD supervision, and oversees the university’s qualification programme for Distinguished University Teachers. The successful candidate is expected to be able to contribute in these areas.
The centre is theoretically and methodologically diverse, and you will work in an interdisciplinary environment with researchers and research fellows with backgrounds in sociology, pedagogy, history, philosophy, political science, social anthropology, health sciences, economics and psychology. We have developed several quantitative databases, including register data from Statistics Norway. Currently, about 50 people are employed at the centre.

The position will focus on digitalisation and learning. We are particularly interested in research related to testing, implementation and consequences of various forms of digitalisation of teaching, and how digitalisation can support teaching, learning, or quality work in professional education and/or in professional practice. Applicants may have a background from the social sciences, humanities or pedagogy. The overriding criterion for distinguishing between applicants will be their academic merits, research potential and projects at a high international level with relevance to the field.
The position is a research and teaching position with considerable room for research. The successful candidate must be willing to take on administrative tasks, such as participation in boards and committees. Key tasks in the position are to:

Good oral and written presentation skills in English are required. Applicants who do not have sufficient knowledge of a Scandinavian language must have acquired Norwegian knowledge corresponding to level B2 within three years of commencement. Courses are offered at OsloMet.

The position is remunerated in accordance with the Basic Collective Agreement for the Civil Service and OsloMet’s salary policy for Professor, code 1013. The salary is NOK 708 000-910 000 per year, salary scale 75-84. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well qualified applicants.
