Oslo Metropolitan University is Norway's third largest university with almost 22,000 students and over 2,500 employees. We have campuses in central Oslo and at Romerike. OsloMet educates students and conducts research that contributes to the sustainability of the Norwegian welfare state and the metropolitan region.

The Faculty of Technology, Art and Design (TKD) offers higher education and research and development (R&D) activities within technical subjects, arts and design. The Faculty has approximately 4.000 students and 400 staff members and is situated at Pilestredet Campus in downtown Oslo and at Kjeller Campus in Viken.

The Department of Computer Science offers three bachelor’s degree programmes, a master’s degree programme, and is part of a cross-departmental PhD program. Academic staff at the department are pursuing research in a wide range of areas including computer science, the natural sciences, and innovation and management. Both students and researchers are also involved in an increasing number of interdisciplinary initiatives across the university.

The Department of Computer Science offers three bachelor’s degree programmes and a master’s degree programme, in addition to research and development activities. The department has approximately 70 staff members and 800 students.

The Department of Computer Science has a vacancy for a permanent position as Assistant Professor in Technology Management and Innovation. The startdate is 1st January 2021.

 

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Teaching, supervision and assessment for the course Technology Management and other courses related to innovation, entrepreneurship and business understanding
  • Contributing to development of courses at Bachelor's level
  • Contributing to development of courses and programs within OsloMet’s Life-long learning portfolio
  • Academic-administrative tasks

 

Qualifications requirements

  • Masters degree in technology management or a closely related fields relevant to innovation, entrepreneurship, digitalization, organisations and leadership
  • Experience and teaching competence in technology management, innovation, entrepreneurship and digitalisation
  • Proficiency in oral and written Norwegian, or a Scandinavian language, is required
  • The applicant must document relevant educational theory and practice for higher education. Applicants who are unable to document basic teaching qualifications on appointment, must acquire these qualifications within two years. OsloMet offers a course on Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (UHPED), in English together with the University of Oslo, that meets this requirement.
  • Proficiency in oral and written English is required.

  • Pedagogical skills and teaching experience
  • Ability to communicate and cooperate with students and colleagues
  • An interest in building educational programmes of high-quality, a keenness to develop teaching and supervision skills, and an interest in digital and innovative educational techniques and practices 
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt teaching and research to the needs of OsloMet and the department, including interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Knowledge in the fields of marketing, business economics, project management, leadership, and organisational strategy will be advanteageous but is not a requirement for the position. Familiarity with technological and engineering-related fields will be also be an advantage.

The position is remunerated in accordance with the Norwegian State salary scale 51-66, job code 1009 Assistant Professor. The salary is NOK 456 400-594 400 per year. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants.
