Oslo Metropolitan University is Norway's third largest university with almost 22,000 students and over 2,500 employees. We have campuses in central Oslo and at Romerike. OsloMet educates students and conducts research that contributes to the sustainability of the Norwegian welfare state and the metropolitan region.
The Faculty of Health Sciences consists of five departments and offers study programmes on all levels, including PhD. The faculty has about 6000 students and nearly 600 members of staff.
Department of Nursing and Health Promotion is located at all three campus: Kjeller, Pilestredet and Sandvika. The department has approximately 3000 students and 250 employees.
The Faculty of Health Sciences, the Department of Nursing and Health Promotion, has a vacancy for a professor in the field of mental health care.
We are looking for a candidate who will help to strengthen the academic, scientific and student-oriented work at the faculty.
The position will be affiliated to the bachelor's degree programme, advanced programme and master's programme in mental health care. Cooperation with other departments at the Faculty of Health Sciences and OsloMet in general on teaching and research activities is a possibility. The candidate appointed is also expected to participate in the development of the academic communities' research qualifications.
Extensive research activity is conducted at the department, which has many research groups. The Faculty of Health Sciences has currently two PhD programmes.

In connection with the appointment, emphasis will be placed on the candidate's overall academic production, and the person appointed must have academic qualifications in one of more of the following fields:
The applicant must document relevant educational theory and practice for higher education. Applicants who are unable to document basic teaching qualifications on appointment, must acquire these qualifications within two years. OsloMet offers a course on Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (UHPED) in English, together with the University of Oslo, that meets this requirement.
Applicants who do not have adequate proficiency in a Scandinavian language, must acquire Norwegian skills corresponding to at least level B2 within three years of commencement.
General criteria for appointments to academic positions are covered by the Regulations for appointment and promotion to academic posts.

The position is remunerated in accordance with the Basic Collective Agreement for the Civil Service and OsloMets salary policy, as professor, code 1013. The salary is NOK 704 900 – 906 000 per year. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well qualified applicants.
