Faculty of Health Sciences , Department of Nursing and Health Promotion

Oslo Metropolitan University is Norway's third largest university with almost 22,000 students and over 2,500 employees. We have campuses in central Oslo and at Romerike. OsloMet educates students and conducts research that contributes to the sustainability of the Norwegian welfare state and the metropolitan region.

The Faculty of Health Sciences consists of five departments and offers study programmes on all levels, including PhD. The faculty has about 6000 students and nearly 600 members of staff.

Department of Nursing and Health Promotion is located at all three campus: Kjeller, Pilestredet and Sandvika. The department has approximately 3000 students and 250 employees.

We want to become one of the country's best nursing programmes within 2024 and build a leading expert community in several fields in our new university.

The Department of Nursing and Health Promotion at the Faculty of Health Sciences has a vacancy for a temporary position as associate professor (førsteamanuensis/førstelektor) related to the field of acute and critical illnesses. The position is vacant to 31th of October 2022 and it is preferable if the person appointed can start in the position as soon as possible.

The faculty will undergo reorganisation and a new programme description for the nursing programme will be launched in autumn 2020. This means that the coming year will be characterised by work on the programme description and the establishment of the new organisation. At the same time, we will maintain a high quality of education for our present students. We are therefore looking for a qualified person to contribute to stability in supervision and teaching activities for students and support colleagues in a time characterised by changes.

Extensive research activity is conducted at the department, which has seven research groups, and we regularly employ research fellows. Last year, the department published 196 research articles. The Faculty of Health Sciences has two PhD programmes, one in behavioural analysis and one in health sciences. Research and education are closely related and we are looking for someone who is both comfortable developing research projects and who can contribute to research-based and practice-based education. As an associate professor, 35% of your position will be dedicated research time.
