The Faculty of Health Sciences consists of five departments and offers study programmes on all levels, including PhD. The faculty has about 6000 students and nearly 600 members of staff.

There is a vacant temporary position affiliated to the radiographer programme at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Life Sciences and Health. The temporary position is for a period of 3.5 years, and is vacant from January 2019. The temporary position a fixed-term position.

The radiographer programme at OsloMet – Oslo Metropolitan University is the country’s largest radiography programme and has approx. 15 employees. Extensive research and development work takes place under the programme, and here the digitalisation process has come far. We work with student active learning methods in all our courses, and we have developed several digital textbooks.

The radiographer programme emphasises innovation, both when it comes to pedagogy and the field of radiology itself. We have several national and international partners. Our students are encouraged to take a semester or practical training period abroad, and we also welcome foreign students for short and long stays. 

The radiographer programme at OsloMet has three modern training laboratories – conventional radiography, mobile radiography, a CBCT, and we are in the phase of building a clinical ward. The skills training facilities are well equipped to conduct realistic simulations.

We are looking for an associate professor/assistant professor with sound experience of clinical work within conventional radiography and CT. We are looking for a candidate who is deeply interested in radiography and who wants to contribute to further developing the Field.

If no applicants with professor or associate professor qualifications apply, applicants may be appointed to a temporary position as an assistant professor.

 

Main duties of the position

  • teaching in the field of radiography, including anatomy and physiology
  • responsibility for the courses
  • supervision of students in skills training
  • follow-up of students in clinical training
  • making use of and developing new digital textbooks

 

We are looking for candidates who have

  • relevant higher education, preferably a PhD
  • authorisation/certification as a radiographer from a European country
  • a master's degree, preferably in radiography or education
  • relevant work experience
  • good oral and written English skills


It is an advantage if you also have

  • experience of teaching/supervision at university/university college level
  • experience of digital learning tools
  • experience as a radiographer in conventional radiography and/or CT

 

Importance will be attached to documented teaching qualifications and experience. If you do not have relevant teaching qualifications, you must undertake to complete the university's basic teaching qualification programme (15 credits) within two years.


OsloMet will test teaching qualifications in connection with interviews.

General criteria for appointments to academic posts are found in the Regulations for appointment and promotion to academic posts.

The salary for the position is in accordance with the pay scale for state employees, code 1011 (førsteamanuensis)/code 1198 (førstelektor) NOK 524,200-682,200 per year or 1008 (universitetslektor) NOK 449,400-586,500 per year. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants.
