Fakultet TKD har om lag 4 000 studenter og 400 ansatte, og holder til i Pilestredet i Oslo sentrum og på Kjeller utenfor Lillestrøm. Fakultetet utfører forskning og tilbyr utdanning på bachelor-, master- og doktorgradsnivå innen teknologi, kunst og design.
Institutt for Produktdesign (PD) er et kreativt og internasjonalt rettet institutt med ca. 30 ansatte. Vi jobber med produkter, tjenester og systemer og er opptatt av tett kobling mot næringslivet. Vi tilbyr et bachelorprogram i produktdesign og en master i design for kompleksitet, samt et phd-program i innovasjon for bærekraft. Instituttet har tre forskningsfelt innen områdene design/estetikk/materialitet, systemisk design og design for helse.
The Faculty of Technology, Arts and Design (TKD) at OsloMet announces one open PhD fellowship in the area of art and design based innovation for sustainability. The position will be attached to the Department of Art, Design and Drama and/or the Department of Product Design. The fellowship will be for a period of four years including 25% compulsory work (teaching and supervision at BSc and MSc level), alternatively three years without compulsory work. The academic work is to result in a doctoral thesis that will be defended at OsloMet to obtain the degree PhD
The overall aim of the planned PhD program is to contribute to a sustainable society and welfare for all. The program will have a holistic, innovative and practice-oriented approach. Its unique approach is its combination of humanistic research, in particular art and design research, with computer science and social sciences in an interdisciplinary setting. The program is characterized by interdisciplinarity and by theoretical and methodological plurality. Innovation and entrepreneurship are key elements. Culture (human thinking, behavior, habits and attitudes) is regarded as a foundational component of sustainability, while social, economic and environmental factors are supporting and interrelated components. The program will prepare the candidates for the needs of an employment market that includes the public sector, the business community and academia.
Innovation for Sustainability is a strategic research area at the Faculty of Technology, Art and Design. Sustainability is a central focus area at OsloMet. The PhD Fellowship will be a free-standing project. Applicants should position their research within the above described scope of the planned PhD program in Innovation for Sustainability and are required to provide a description of their chosen research project when applying for the PhD position. The PhD Fellowship will follow a current PhD education at OsloMet until the PhD education in Innovation for Sustainability has been established. The successful candidate for the position will focus on discussing and developing products, processes, systems and/or art and design education, contributing to a sustainable society and welfare for all. Innovative and interdisciplinary methods, and a human-centered and cultural approach are emphasized. Ethic and/or aesthetic inquiries in this concern are encouraged.
A potential main supervisor at the Faculty og Technology, Art & Design must be listed in the final application. Where possible, a co-supervisor from OsloMet or elsewhere should also be listed.

The salary for the position is in accordance with the pay scale for Norwegian state employees, PhD Fellowship, code 1017. State salary wage scale 54 : 482.200 NOK per year
