Fakultet TKD har om lag 4 000 studenter og 400 ansatte, og holder til i Pilestredet i Oslo sentrum og på Kjeller utenfor Lillestrøm. Fakultetet utfører forskning og tilbyr utdanning på bachelor-, master- og doktorgradsnivå innen teknologi, kunst og design.

Institutt for informasjonsteknologi tilbyr fire bachelorstudier, et årsstudium, et masterstudium og bidrar til to tverrfaglige doktorgradsprogrammer ved fakultetet. Instituttet har stor forsknings- og utviklingsaktivitet innen et bredt spekter av fagområder, inkludert informatikk, naturvitenskap, innovasjon og ledelse. Studenter og forskere er i stor grad involvert i tverrfaglige aktiviteter ved universitetet. Instituttet har om lag 100 ansatte og 1250 fulltidsstudenter.

The department of Computer Science has a vacant position as Assistant Professor in Web Technology. The position is set to start 1.8.2024.

Your main duties and areas of responsibility will be to

  • plan, develop, teach courses and supervise at Bachelor and Master level, in topics related to Web Technology and Programming (e.g., Web Programming, application development).
  • actively contributing to the development of high-quality education.
  • actively contribute to the development of the department and OsloMet as an institution.
  • perform academic administrative tasks.

Qualification requirements

  • Master’s degree, or university degree equivalent to a Master’s degree, in a field relevant to Web Technology, programming or a closely related field.
  • Extensive practical experience and knowledge of web development / web programming
  • Familiarity with the most recent web development frameworks for full stack web programming.
  • Strong theoretical of the foundations of, and extensive experience working with programming.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience with development of educational quality in an academic environment.
  • Written and oral proficiency in English. It is also an advantage with proficiency in a Scandinavian language.

Applicants who do not have adequate proficiency in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language, shall be offered Norwegian courses, and must acquire Norwegian skills corresponding to at least level B2 within three years of appointment.

General criteria for appointments to academic positions are covered by the Regulations for appointment and promotion to academic posts.

Emphasis will be placed on:

  • The applicant’s teaching experience, pedagogical skills, and motivation for teaching and supervision at bachelor and master level.
  • Personal qualities that promote a good working environment.
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt teaching and research to the department’s and OsloMet’s needs, including ability to interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Written and oral proficiency in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language is a significant advantage.
  • Practical industry experience is an advantage.

The salary for the position is in accordance with the Basic Collective Agreement for state employees and OsloMet’s pay policy for Assistant Professor in code 1009 corresponding to NOK 594 500 – 745 000 per year. From the salary, 2% will be deducted in pension contributions for the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund (SPK). A higher salary may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants.
