The Faculty of Technology, Art and Design (TKD) offers higher education and research and development (R&D) activities within technical subjects, arts and design. The Faculty has approximately 4.000 students and 400 staff members and is situated at Pilestredet Campus in downtown Oslo and at Kjeller Campus in Viken.

The Department of Computer Science offers three bachelor’s degree programmes, a master’s degree programme, and is part of a cross-departmental PhD program. Academic staff at the department are pursuing research in a wide range of areas including computer science, the natural sciences, and innovation and management. Both students and researchers are also involved in an increasing number of interdisciplinary initiatives across the university.

The Department of Computer Science has a vacancy for a permanent position as Professor / Associate Professor in Innovation and entrepreneurship. The position will involve teaching and research in the areas of innovation, entrepreneurship and technology management. 

We are looking for a candidate with a talent and a passion for teaching, research and innovation. Candidates are expected to have conducted extensive research in one or more of the following areas: technology innovation, entrepreneurship or technology management. The research should be reflected in an extensive publication list and high impact.

Candidates will be expected to actively strengthen and shape the academic and research work at the department and the university's research community in general, including interdisciplinary work across departments at the Faculty for Technology, Arts Design, and with other faculties and research centres at OsloMet.

The candidate will be responsible for securing external funding and as such should have experience with applying for nationally and internationally funded grants.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Planning, developing and delivering courses in Technology Management, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, primarily at the undergraduate level.
  • Developing and teaching courses in Digital Transformation and Leadership for managers in both the private and public sector.
  • Supervision and assessment of student work.
  • Actively contributing to the development of high-quality education.
  • Initiating and conducting research and disseminating the subsequent results.
  • Initiating and actively participating in writing applications for research funding.
  • Strengthening the department’s academic and research work and enhancing its research profile in innovation, entrepreneurship, technology management and related fields.
  • Actively contributing to the development of the department.
  • Performing the required administrative tasks related to educational, research and innovation activities.

 

Qualifications:

The required qualifications for the positions are as follows:

  • PhD in or directly related to the fields of innovation, entrepreneurship or technology management.
  • documented research work and publications within fields related to innovation, entrepreneurship or technology management
  • experience of initiating and managing research projects. Candidates for the position of Professor should also have solid track record of securing external funding for research.
  • experience from international research collaboration
  • experience in teaching and supervision in higher education
  • fluency in English is expected. The candidate is expected to acquire a working command of Norwegian within three years of being appointed.

Candidates who have no relevant specific qualifications in pedagogy at the time of appointment must commit themselves to complete OsloMet’s programme for basic pedagogical competence (15 ECTS credits) within two years.

A trial lecture will be required in connection with a personal interview.

Remuneration

The salary for the position is in accordance with the Norwegian State Salary Scale: job code 1013 Professor, NOK 696 500 – 893 900 or job code 1011 Associate professor (førsteamanuensis), NOK 524 200 – 682 200. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants. By law a % of the salary is deducted as to the State Pension Fund.

  • a text (up to 2 pages) outlining your relevant research and plans for research activity in the position (“research statement”). This overview should include an overview of existing projects and research collaborators.
