The Faculty of Technology, Art and Design (TKD) offers higher education and research and development (R&D) activities within technical subjects, arts and design. The Faculty has approximately 4.000 students and 400 staff members and is situated at Pilestredet Campus in downtown Oslo and at Kjeller Campus in Viken.
OsloMet is looking for someone with talent and passion for teaching in areas such as industrial robotics, including fixed robots and mobile robots, and a positive attitude towards students.
The Department of Mechanical, Electrical, and Chemical Engineering (MEK) has a vacant position as University lecturer/Assistant professor in Robotics. The position will involve teaching in areas such as industrial robotics, including fixed robots (with an emphasis on articulated robots and SCARA robots) and mobile robots (such as AMRs, AGVs, and humanoid robots). The candidate is also expected to participate in RDI activities within robotics in line with the department’s existing research activities.
The department emphasizes teaching and supervision, and our goal is that the students acquire and develop solid theoretical knowledge and practical as well as social skills in a supportive learning environment.
We are looking for someone who can actively strengthen and develop our existing RDI activities within industrial automation. Earlier experience with applying and securing external funding is considered positively in the evaluation for this position. Experience from development work in, or in close collaboration with the industry will also be evaluated positively.
In addition, you are expected to strengthen and shape the academic environment at the university in general, including interdisciplinary work across departments at TKD, as well as other faculties at OsloMet in line with TKD and OsloMet strategies.
Applicants who do not have adequate proficiency in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language, shall be offered Norwegian courses, and must acquire Norwegian skills corresponding to at least level B2 within three years of appointment.

Practical information about relocation to Oslo and living in Norway
The salary for the position is in accordance with the Basic Collective Agreement for state employees and OsloMets pay policy for Assistant Professorin code 1009 corresponding to NOK 513.100 - NOK 614.000 per year. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants. From the salary, 2% will be deducted in pension contributions for the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund (SPK).
