Oslo Metropolitan University is Norway's third largest university with almost 22,000 students and over 2,500 employees. We have campuses in central Oslo and at Romerike. OsloMet educates students and conducts research that contributes to the sustainability of the Norwegian welfare state and the metropolitan region.
The Faculty of Technology, Art and Design (TKD) offers higher education and research and development (R&D) activities within technical subjects, arts and design. The Faculty has approximately 4.000 students and 400 staff members and is situated at Pilestredet Campus in downtown Oslo and at Kjeller Campus in Viken.
The Department of Built Environment offers bachelors and master’s degree programs in engineering, in addition to research and development activities. The department has approximately 60 staff members and 850 students.
The Department of Built Environment at Faculty of technology, art and design at OsloMet has a
vacancy for a full-time permanent Professor/ Associate Professor in Smart Water Technology. The
department is developing its study portfolio and plans to start up a new MSc specialisation in Smart Water Process and Infrastructure Engineering in 2023 and want to strengthen its academic
environment in the water field. OsloMet is looking for an innovative, creative and responsible
employee who can contribute to the teaching, research and development of the field of smart urban water, civil and environmental engineering. The employee shall lead the research and education in modelling sewer networks, climate change adaptation and mitigation as well as cyber security in urban water systems. The employee is also expected to collaborate with research groups at the department to conduct interdisciplinary activities.

Applicants who do not have adequate proficiency in a Scandinavian language upon appointment must acquire Norwegian skills corresponding to at least level B2 within three years of appointment. Courses are offered for free at OsloMet.

The salary for the position is in accordance with the Basic Collective Agreement for state employees and OsloMet’s pay policy for position code 1013 Professor, NOK 728 100-935 300 per year, or position code 1011 Associate Professor, NOK 553 500-714 000 per year. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants.
The engagement is to be made in accordance with the regulations in force concerning State Employees and Civil Servants, and the acts relating to Control of the Export of Strategic Goods, Services and Technology. Candidates who by assessment of the application and attachment are seen to conflict with the criteria in the latter law will be prohibited from recruitment to OsloMet.
