Oslo Metropolitan University is Norway's third largest university with almost 22,000 students and over 2,500 employees. We have campuses in central Oslo and at Romerike. OsloMet educates students and conducts research that contributes to the sustainability of the Norwegian welfare state and the metropolitan region.
The Faculty of Technology, Art and Design (TKD) offers higher education and research and development (R&D) activities within technical subjects, arts and design. The Faculty has approximately 4.000 students and 400 staff members and is situated at Pilestredet Campus in downtown Oslo and at Kjeller Campus in Viken.
The Faculty of Technology, Art and Design (TKD), Department of Mechanical, Electronics and Chemical Enginering (MEK) has a vacancy as a research fellow.
Research field and work area: ADvanced hEalth intelligence and brain-insPired Technologies (ADEPT) is an interdisciplinary initiative across faculties and professions at OsloMet. In this project, the group seeks to connect different data sources (symptoms, function, biology, and brain activity data) to develop new technology for health services. The position advertised here will focus on brain mechanisms that are believed to be effective in preventing and treating depression in adults.
Using collected data from a previous RCT study on cognitive training in depression, the group has prepared analyses that will be used as a background for developing an "intelligent" solution for cognitive training called Attention Bias Modification (ABM). The study aims to optimize and individualize ABM for maximum positive change of biased attention in depression. The mechanism is the same as is believed to be effective during conventional antidepressant treatment, and ABM may therefore represent a drug-free supplement with high clinical potential. The candidate will be invited to the final design of the project to ensure commitment and competence.
Here you will collaborate with several of the national leading research communities within brain imaging and cognitive training. The projects are carried out in collaboration with the Department of Psychology, UiO and is supervised by Associate Professor Rune Jonassen and Professor Peyman Mirtaheri at OsloMet.
