Faculty of Social Sciences offers study programmes within archivistics, library and information science, journalism and media studies, social work, social policy and child welfare, public management and business.

Oslo Business School has a vacancy for a permanent position as Associate Professor in organizational behavior with an emphasis on organizational psychology.

Oslo Business School aims at developing its staff and is looking for a person qualified to contribute to further developing research and teaching primarily within organizational psychology as well as within related areas such as leadership, teamwork, HRM and organizational studies in general. In addition, Oslo Business School seeks a person that can contribute to the school’s skills within relevant research methods such as advanced quantitative methods.

Oslo Business School is a part of the Faculty of Social Sciences. The Faculty will soon launch its own PhD program and recruitment and supervision of PhD students may also be an option. The vacant position is part of the Organization and Management unit at the Business School. This unit is responsible for teaching within management at all levels including executive programs and continuing education.

Task and responsibilities

Tasks vary over time and include:

  • teaching and supervision within study programmes offered by the business school
  • research and dissemination of results
  • academic-administrative tasks
  • active contribution to the development of a hich-quality education and to the development of the business school in general

Qualification requirements

Applicants must:

  • hold a PhD in management with an emphasis on organizational psychology
  • have experience teaching in higher education
  • be proficient in oral and written English is required

Qualified applicants will be assessed and ranked

  • primarily based on research output relevant for the position. Publications in highly quality outlets during the last eight years will be emphasised.
  • based on skills in advanced research methods relevant for research and teaching at the business school.
  • based on experience teaching in higher education and formal pedagogical qualifications.

General criteria for appointments to academic positions are covered by the Regulations for appointment and promotion to academic posts.

Candidates who have no relevant qualifications in pedagogy at the time of appointment must commit themselves to complete OsloMet’s program for basic pedagogical competence (15 ECTS credits) within two years.

The following will be an advantage

  • experience working with externally funded research projects
  • research management and cooperation in research networks
  • digital proficiency, preferably related to empirical research or teaching experience from and knowledge about international or Norwegian working life and business companies or public administration, as well as experience with leadership development
  • proficiency in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language. Applicants who do not have adequate proficiency in a Scandinavian language, must acquire Norwegian skills corresponding to at least level B2 within three years of commencement.

Practical information about relocation to Oslo and living in Norway

The position is remunerated in accordance with the Basic Collective Agreement for the Civil Service and OsloMets salary for position code 1011 associate professor. The salary is NOK 535 200 – 694 400 per year. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well qualified applicants.
