The aim of the bachelor’s degree programme is to educate and socialise students into an academic culture and ensure that they develop competence and attitudes that form the basis for the provision of caring and professionally sound nursing and contribute to equitable health services. The main focus of the bachelor’s programme is to disseminate theoretical knowledge, skills and values that together provide a foundation for the practice and development of good nursing. We are therefore looking for persons who can be inspiring role models for our bachelor’s students, as well as researchers and teachers who can contribute to ensuring that our nursing programme becomes one of the best in the country.
The persons appointed will teach and supervise the fundamentals of nursing and play key roles in the department’s research in and development of the nursing discipline, with particular emphasis on the fundamentals of nursing. Applicants should preferably document an interest and competence in the development of relevant university pedagogy for the nursing programme. The persons appointed must contribute to research, development of the discipline, publication and dissemination of research results of clear relevance to education and the development of nursing. They will also be expected to contribute to network building nationally and internationally, and to actively apply for external project funding.
For both positions, the applicant must be able to demonstrate that their research and clinical experience mean that they have relevant competence in the fundamentals of nursing, i.e. the knowledge, skills and values that provide a foundation for nursing practice.
The persons appointed must hold Norwegian authorisation as a general nurse, have recent clinical experience of relevance to the programme and experience of supervising students in the bachelor’s programme in nursing. Applicants should also be able to document an interest in and experience of education and supervision and relevant competence in university pedagogy. At least one of the positions should preferably be filled by a candidate with experience of relevant research or development in university pedagogy / subject didactics for the nursing programme.
It is an advantage if applicants can document basic competence in teaching and supervision at university and university college level. Applicants who are unable to document basic university teaching qualifications upon appointment must achieve such qualifications within two years. OsloMet offers a programme in university pedagogy (UHPED) that meets this requirement.
Good oral and written presentation skills in English are required. Applicants who do not have adequate proficiency in a Scandinavian language upon appointment must acquire Norwegian skills corresponding to at least level B2 within three years of appointment.
General criteria for appointment to teaching and research positions are set out in the Regulations concerning appointment and promotion to teaching and research posts.
OsloMet will test teaching qualifications in connection with interviews.
