Oslo Metropolitan University is Norway's third largest university with almost 22,000 students and over 2,500 employees. We have campuses in central Oslo and at Romerike. OsloMet educates students and conducts research that contributes to the sustainability of the Norwegian welfare state and the metropolitan region.
The Faculty of Health Sciences consists of five departments and offers study programmes on all levels, including PhD. The faculty has about 6000 students and nearly 600 members of staff.
Department of Nursing and Health Promotion is located at all three campus: Kjeller, Pilestredet and Sandvika. The department has approximately 3000 students and 250 employees.
There is a vacancy for a full-time permanent position as an associate professor (førsteamanuensis or førstelektor) in the field of nursing and health promotion at the Department of Nursing and Health Promotion. The department is affiliated to the Faculty of Health Sciences and has around 3,000 students and 250 employees. The department has activities in Pilestredet, Kjeller and in Sandvika. We want to strengthen areas of knowledge with a focus on clinical and educational competence in the area of paediatric nursing. The duties relating to the position are mostly related to paediatric nursing at Pilestredet campus, and, until autumn 2021, the bachelor's programme in nursing at Sandvika campus (BASS).
As associate professor, you are expected to contribute to the faculty achieving its strategy of quality, robustness and relevance in its study programmes and research. The Faculty of Health Sciences has two PhD programmes, and the department has seven established research groups.
We are looking for a motivated colleague who will help to strengthen the academic and educational work at the department. We are looking for a candidate who is inquisitive and interested in the work of his/her colleagues and who is ambitious on his/her students’ behalf. Applicants must have the ability and willingness to engage in interdisciplinary work and handle and take an interest in different methodological and philosophy of science approaches.
The academic community and the organisation are facing exciting tasks related to changes in education plans and organisation of the enterprise. Organisational changes may entail change of duties, and travel between campuses must be expected.

Persons appointed to a førsteamanuensis position must hold a PhD or equivalent.
Persons appointed to a førstelektor position must have a pre-1990 university degree approximately equivalent to a master's degree ('embetseksamen'), a degree at second degree level under the pre-2003 system (‘hovedfag’) or a master’s degree, as well as documented extensive research and development work that in quality and scope corresponds to the workload and level of a doctoral thesis.
General criteria for appointment to teaching and research positions are set out in the Regulations concerning appointment and promotion to teaching and research posts.

If no applicants who are qualified for appointment as an associate professor apply, an applicant may be appointed to a temporary position as an assistant professor (universitetslektor) on the condition that he/she qualifies for a permanent position within three years, cf. the Act relating to universities and university colleges § 6-5(1).

The salary for the position is in accordance with the Basic Collective Agreement for state employees and OsloMet’s pay policy for position code 1011 førsteamanuensis/1198 førstelektor, pay grade 60–74, i.e. NOK 532 300–691 400 per year/1009 universitetslektor, pay grade 51–66, i.e. NOK 456 400–594 400 per year. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants.
