Oslo Metropolitan University is Norway's third largest university with almost 22,000 students and over 2,500 employees. We have campuses in central Oslo and at Romerike. The Faculty of Technology, Art and Design (TKD) offers higher education and research and development (R&D) activities within technical subjects, arts and design. The Faculty has approximately 4.000 students and 400 staff members and is situated at Pilestredet Campus in downtown Oslo and at Kjeller Campus in Viken.

The Faculty of Technology, Art and Design (TKD) is seeking a new person to operate and further develop Makerspace. OsloMet Makerspace is an interdisciplinary project room used in organized teaching and is open Monday to Friday 09 - 21 for students and other interested parties. In Makerspace, you can among other things 3D print, laser cut, program, sew and get guidance and support to create what you want. https://www.oslomet.no/studier/studenthistorier/makerspace-for-alle

The position is related to the operation of Makerspace, and the development and implementation of teaching in Makerspace. The person employed in the position must work in a team of manager and student mentors in a student-active learning environment. The position also involves networking, marketing of Makerspace and establishing projects.

Main duties of the position

  • To develop and implement teaching adapted to education.
  • Operation of Makerspace in close contact with the manager.
  • HSE work in Makerspace.
  • Supervision of student projects and completion of assignments.
  • Development of user guides and equipment maintenance.
  • To establish collaboration, both internally at OsloMet and externally.
  • Marketing.

We are looking for applicants who have

  • relevant education with a bachelor's or master's degree in technology. Work experience can replace education requirements.
  • experience with educational work
  • experience and good insight into practical work in workshops
  • good oral and written ability in English. Applicants who do not have sufficient knowledge of Scandinavian must have acquired Norwegian knowledge equivalent to level B2 within three years of accession.

Experience from work in Makerspace or similar will be emphasized.

  • have good presentation skills and experience with courses and lectures

The salary for the position is in accordance with the pay scale for Norwegian state employees, 1085 avdelingsingeniør paygrade 40-52, NOK 386 200 – 464 000 per year or 1087 overingeniør, paygrade 53-60, NOK 472 000 – 532 300 per year. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well qualified applicants. Law deducts 2% of the salary to the State Pension Fund.
