The Faculty of Health Sciences consists of five departments and offers study programmes on all levels, including PhD. The faculty has about 6000 students and nearly 600 members of staff.

Department of Nursing and Health Promotion is located at all three campus: Kjeller, Pilestredet and Sandvika. The department has approximately 3000 students and 250 employees.

Are you enthusiastic about developing the field of paramedic science?

Two part-time positions (50% of a full-time position) as assistant professor/university teacher are available at the Department of Nursing and Health Promotion, the Faculty of Health Sciences, in the field of paramedics. It may be relevant to appoint one person in a full-time position if deemed appropriate. It is preferable if the person appointed can start in the position as soon as possible.

The paramedic programme at OsloMet is looking for an enthusiastic paramedic who wishes to contribute to the development of a new and exciting education.

We are looking for someone who is ambitious on their students’ behalf, who enjoys teaching, supervision and research, and who is prepared to use various digital learning resources.

Extensive research activity is conducted at the department, which has seven research groups, and we regularly hire research fellows.

Main duties of the position

  • teaching and supervising students during clinical training and at the simulation and skills centre
  • developing, planning, implementing and evaluating courses in the programme
  • grading and developing forms of assessment

We are looking for candidates who have

  • a bachelor’s degree in a health-related area
  • documented paramedic qualifications
  • relevant clinical experience, ideally within pre-hospital services
  • experience of teaching/supervision at university/university college level
  • good language skills in a Scandinavian language and English, spoken and written

If no applicants who are qualified for appointment as an assistant professor apply, an applicant may be appointed to a temporary position as an university teacher on the condition that he/she qualifies for a permanent position as assistant professor within three years.

It is an advantage if you also have

  • a master’s degree in a health-related area
  • experience of digital learning platforms and methods

Importance will be attached to documented teaching qualifications and experience. If you do not have relevant teaching qualifications, you must undertake to complete the university's basic teaching qualification programme (15 credits) within two years.

OsloMet will test teaching qualifications in connection with interviews.

The salary for the position is in accordance with the pay scale for state employees, code 1009 assistant professor (universitetslektor) / 1007 university teacher (øvingslærer). The salary for the position is NOK 456 400–594 400 per year at pay grade 51–66 assistant professor and NOK 428 200–532 300 at pay grade 47–60 for university teacher. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants.
