Oslo Metropolitan University is Norway's third largest university with almost 22,000 students and over 2,500 employees. We have campuses in central Oslo and at Romerike. OsloMet educates students and conducts research that contributes to the sustainability of the Norwegian welfare state and the metropolitan region.
The Faculty of Technology, Art and Design (TKD) offers higher education and research and development (R&D) activities within technical subjects, arts and design. The Faculty has approximately 4.000 students and 400 staff members and is situated at Pilestredet Campus in downtown Oslo and at Kjeller Campus in Viken.

There are currently 2 PhD positions available in connection with the PhD-program in engineering science at the Faculty of Technology, Art and Design (TKD). Both positions are full-time (100%) for a period of 3 years.
The PhD-program has a multidisciplinary profile and offers a variety of topics within engineering science. The program is a collaboration with the research center on digital engineering: Simula@OsloMet. TKD is an important contributor to OsloMet’s strategic goal of being a leading provider of research and education for solving the big challenges for society - today and in the future. We welcome research students with devotion and ideas on how to develop and apply a wide range of research topics in engineering science.

Research topic and project description
Applicants may research on any topic of their choice within the field of engineering science, and are requested to provide a description of their chosen research project when applying for the PHD-positions. The requirements for the project description are listed below.

Each PhD position presupposes admission to the Faculty’s PhDprogram.
Final project plan shall be completed and approved within 3 months after being offered the position.

Applicants will be assessed by an expert committee. In order to be considered for the position you must upload the following documents together with your online application by the final date for the application:
TOEFL: 600 (paper-based test), 92 (Internet-based test)
IELTS: 6.5, with no section lower than 5.5 (only Academic IELTS test accepted)

Remuneration
Salary is set in accordance with the Norwegian State Salary Scale, position code 1017 NOK 479 600 – 504 700. By law 2% of the salary is deducted as to the Norwegian State Pension Fund.
