The Faculty of Health Sciences consists of five departments and offers study programmes on all levels, including PhD. The faculty has about 6000 students and nearly 600 members of staff.

Associate professor / Assistant professor – psychomotor physiotherapy, 50% of a full-time position

The Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy has a vacancy for an assistant professor (universitetslektor)/associate professor (førsteamanuensis or førstelektor) in a permanent 50% position from 1 August 2020.

The Department of Physiotherapy offers a bachelor's programme and master's programme in physiotherapy and a master’s programme in (re)habilitation. At present, further education programmes are offered in paediatric and adolescent, physiotherapy for elderly people, and psychomotor physiotherapy. The plan is to offer the further education programmes as programme options in a master's programme in health sciences, starting in autumn 2021. The last class of further education students will be admitted in autumn 2019 and take their final exam in December 2020. Extensive research activity takes place at the department, which has three research groups and two Ph.D programmes.

We are looking for someone who is interested in developing psychomotor physiotherapy as a discipline and profession, and who wants to contribute to the teaching and development tasks in this field at the department. It is an advantage is you are able to combine a position at OsloMet with clinical practice.

Duties

  • teach and supervise students in the further education programme psychomotor physiotherapy, and later in the subject-specific courses in the master's programme in psychomotor physiotherapy
  • supervise and contribute to developing assessment forms
  • contribute to developing the further education programme into a master’s degree programme
  • plan, coordinate, and carry out academic and administrative tasks in relation to study programmes and courses
  • contribute to the development of the department’s academic activities

Teaching in other relevant subject areas at bachelor’s, master's and further education level at the department must be expected.

 

Qualification requirements

  • a relevant Master's degree
  • Norwegian authorisation as a physiotherapist
  • entitled to charge the A9 rate
  • recent clinical experience as a psychomotor physiotherapist
  • good oral and written presentation skills in a Scandinavian language and English

 

Desirable qualifications

  • teaching and supervision experience in physical therapy
  • experience of project work, dissemination, and publication
  • experience of interdisciplinary cooperation and interaction at different levels in the health services
  • knowledge of the rules and framework conditions that apply self-employed physiotherapists

General criteria for appointments to assistant professor positions are found in the Regulations for appointment and promotion to academic posts.

Importance will be attached to documented teaching qualifications and experience. If you do not have relevant teaching qualifications, you must undertake to complete the university's basic teaching qualification programme (15 credits) within two years. OsloMet will test teaching qualifications in connection with interviews.

The salary for the position is in accordance with the pay scale for state employees: 1009 assistant professor (universitetslektor) , NOK 456,400–594,400. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants.
