The Faculty of Health Sciences consists of five departments and offers study programmes on all levels, including PhD. The faculty has about 6000 students and nearly 600 members of staff.

Do you want to develop the field of re(habilitation)?

The Department of Physiotherapy has a vacancy for a permanent position as an associate professor in 50% of a full-time position affiliated to the interdisciplinary Master’s Programme in Rehabilitation and Habilitation. The department has approx. 80 members of staff and offers bachelor's, further education and master's degrees programmes in physiotherapy, in addition to a master's degree programme in
re(habilitation).

Extensive research activity takes place at the department, with two PhD programmes, one in health sciences and one in behaviour analysis. The department has several research groups, among other things in the field of (Re)habilitation – Individuals, Services and Society: 

Our new member of staff will be central to the further development of research activity and the master’s programme in rehabilitation. Teaching duties in the department's other study programmes must be expected.

Main duties of the position

  • teaching and supervision of students at all levels of the programme, with particular responsibility for the master's degree programme in (re)habilitation
  • developing and implementing courses in the master’s degree programme in (re)habilitation with a student-active profile
  • engaging in research activity in the field of (re)habilitation that strengthens the lines of communication between R&D, education and the professional field
  • participating in and leading research projects

We are looking for candidates who have

  • a PhD degree in social sciences or health sciences
  • experience of leading research and development projects in the field of (re)habilitation
  • experience of teaching and supervising master's degree students
  • good oral and written English skills

If the candidate does not have the required skills in Norwegian or a Scandinavian language, he/she will be offered training to be able to carry out the tasks involved in the position.

It is an advantage if you also have

  • experience of interdisciplinary practice in the field of (re)habilitation
  • experience of using student administrative support systems
  • established national and international research networks

Importance will be attached to documented teaching qualifications and experience. If you do not have relevant teaching qualifications, you must undertake to complete the university's basic teaching qualification programme (15 credits) within two years.

OsloMet will test teaching qualifications in connection with interviews.

General criteria for appointments to positions as associate professor are found in the Regulations for appointment and promotion to academic posts.
