The Faculty of Health Sciences consists of five departments and offers study programmes on all levels, including PhD. The faculty has about 6000 students and nearly 600 members of staff.

Department of Behavioural Sciences har approximately 750 students and 60 employees. The department is represented at all three campus; Kjeller, Pilestredet and Sandvika.

The Department of behavioral science at the Faculty of health sciences of OsloMet – Oslo Metropolitan University invites applications for a 3-year post-doctoral position.

It is a recruitment position aimed at candidates with the ambition to reach top academic level.

Permanent staff in an academic position at OsloMet cannot apply for this postdoctoral position.

The Department of behavioral science have a strong international position within diverse research areas such as complex human behavior, cultural selection, and early intervention. The post-doc position will support the research and international collaboration of the department.   

Applicants can expect to work in a strong and diverse scientific community with research topics ranging from basic/experimental research, via application of behavioral science in educational and treatment settings, to theoretical and conceptual development.

 

Main duties of the position

  • conducting research
  • supervising incoming and outgoing students
  • facilitating lab activities
  • acquisition of external funding for research and international collaboration
  • teaching and supervision in ongoing and new projects in cultural selection

 

We are looking for applicants who have

  • PhD degree or equivalent in behavior analysis
  • high proficiency in behavior analysis
  • teaching and supervision experience, preferably at a high academic level (master’s and doctoral work)
  • experienced with conducting experiments with human and non-human animal subjects
  • the candidate should be able to show publications from experimental work in both categories
  • in addition, applicants must document solid knowledge of selection processes at different levels of organized complexity
  • the applicant should be well versed in theories of cultural selection and selection of cultures. A good international network is an asset
  • proficiency in written and spoken English

The university will test pedagogical skills in connection with a personal interview.

  • two scientific articles that you want assessed specifically for the application
  • project outline (proposals for research activities relevant for the topic in the advertisement) of up to five pages, including illustrations, tables and reference list.

The salary for the position of postdoctoral fellow is in accordance with the pay scale for state employees, position code 1352, pay grade NOK 524,200–682,200 per year. A higher salary might be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants.
