The Faculty of Health Sciences consists of five departments and offers study programmes on all levels, including PhD. The faculty has about 6000 students and nearly 600 members of staff.

Department of Nursing and Health Promotion is located at all three campus: Kjeller, Pilestredet and Sandvika. The department has approximately 3000 students and 250 employees.

Are you keen to contribute to the development of the paramedic field?

 

The Faculty of Health Sciences, the Department of Nursing and Health Promotion, has a full-time vacancy. The position is vacant from 01 May 2019.

The paramedic programme at OsloMet is looking for an enthusiastic paramedic who is keen to contribute to the development of a new and exciting education.

We are looking for someone who is ambitious on their students’ behalf, who enjoys teaching, supervision and research, and who is prepared to use various digital learning resources.

Extensive research activity is conducted at the department, which has seven research groups, and we regularly hire research fellows. As an associate professor, part of your position will be dedicated research time.

If no applicants with associate professor qualifications apply, an applicant may be appointed to a temporary position as an assistant professor on the condition that he/she qualifies for an associate professor position within three years. A qualification plan must be enclosed with the application.

Main duties of the position 

  • teaching and supervising students during clinical training and at the simulation and skills centre
  • R&D activities, publishing and disseminating research results relevant to paramedic science (not applicable to the position of assistant professor)
  • developing, planning, implementing and evaluating courses in the programme
  • grading and developing forms of assessment


We are looking for candidates who have

  • relevant education in health sciences, preferably at associate professor level, and at least at master’s level
  • documented paramedic qualifications
  • relevant clinical experience
  • theoretical and practical experience of prehospital services
  • good oral and written English skills

 

If the candidate does not have the required skills in Norwegian or a Scandinavian language, he/she will be offered training to be able to carry out the tasks involved in the position and/or field of work. You must be able to document Norwegian skills at a level corresponding to at least level B2 within three years of being hired.


It is an advantage if you also have

  • experience of teaching/supervision at university/university college level
  • experience of digital learning platforms and methods
  • R&D experience and publication activity in the programme's subject areas


Importance will be attached to documented teaching qualifications and experience. If you do not have relevant teaching qualifications, you must undertake to complete the university's basic teaching qualification programme (15 credits) within two years.


OsloMet will test teaching qualifications in connection with interviews.

The salary for the position is in accordance with the pay scale for state employees, code 1011 (førsteamanuensis) / 1198 (førstelektor). Salary: NOK 524 200-682 200. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants.
