Oslo Metropolitan University is Norway's third largest university with almost 22,000 students and over 2,500 employees. We have campuses in central Oslo and at Romerike. OsloMet educates students and conducts research that contributes to the sustainability of the Norwegian welfare state and the metropolitan region.

The Faculty of Health Sciences consists of five departments and offers study programmes on all levels, including PhD. The faculty has about 6000 students and nearly 600 members of staff.

Department of Behavioural Sciences har approximately 750 students and 60 employees. The department is represented at all three campus; Kjeller, Pilestredet and Sandvika.

There is a vacant temporary full-time position as assistant professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Department of Behavioural Sciences. The duration of the temporary position is three years, and it is vacant at present.

The Department of Behavioural Sciences has the following study programmes: bachelor's degree programmes in social education and psychology, a master's degree programme in behavioural science, a range of further education programmes and a PhD programme in behaviour analysis. .

In addition to the PhD programme in behaviour analysis, the Faculty of Health Sciences also offers a PhD programme in health sciences.


Main duties of the position

  • responsibility for courses, teach and develop student-active learning methods in the bachelor’s degree programme in social education.
  • grade exam papers
  • supervise and assess students in practical/clinical training
  • teach and assess students' practical skills in skills training facilities
  • contribute to the development of the study programme and the department’s academic activities
  • run and be responsible for the logistics of the skills training facilities
  • hire part-time lecturers in collaboration with the programme coordinator


We are looking for candidates who have

  • a relevant master's degree in the health field
  • a bachelor's degree in nursing or social education
  • relevant practical/clinical experience from health services at municipal and state level
  • good language skills in a Scandinavian language and English, spoken and written


It is an advantage if you also have

  • teaching and supervision experience
  • documented teaching qualifications
  • knowledge of the programme description for the social education programme
  • recent clinical experience
  • extensive knowledge of digital teaching methods
  • knowledge of the database VAR Healthcare
  • insight into the healthcare legislation

OsloMet will test teaching qualifications in connection with interviews.

The salary for the position is in accordance with the pay scale for state employees, position code 1009, associate professor. Salary NOK 449,400 to 586,500 per year. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants.
