Oslo Metropolitan University is Norway's third largest university with almost 22,000 students and over 2,500 employees. We have campuses in central Oslo and at Romerike. OsloMet educates students and conducts research that contributes to the sustainability of the Norwegian welfare state and the metropolitan region.
The Faculty of Health Sciences consists of five departments and offers study programmes on all levels, including PhD. The faculty has about 6000 students and nearly 600 members of staff.
There is a vacant fixed-term position for a research fellow at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Life Sciences and Health. The research fellowship period is full-time for a period of three years without teaching obligations / required duties.
Stiftelsen til fremme av norsk apotekfarmasi (‘The foundation for promoting Norwegian pharmacy pharmaceutics’) provides funding for the research fellowship. The research project focuses on the development of pharmacy practice and the competence-raising measures for pharmacists working in pharmacies.
Extensive research activity is conducted at the department, and several research groups have been established. The research fellow position is affiliated to both pharmacy research groups: Disease and environmental exposures and Medicines and patient safety.
This research fellowship is affiliated to the PhD Programme in Health Sciences.
Admission to the PhD Programme in Health Sciences is a precondition for taking up the position.

Field of work
The research area is competence development and dissemination in pharmacies. An intervention is planned to raise the level of competence about the correct use of antibiotics among pharmacists. The research project will focus on how expertise among pharmacists working in pharmacies can improve patient adherence to antibiotics treatment. Other parts of the research project looks at the interaction between doctor and patient and between pharmacist and doctor. There will be close contact between academia and the pharmacists during the research project.

The salary for the position is in accordance with the pay scale for state employees, position code 1017, research fellow, currently a starting salary of NOK 449,400 for the first year. The salary increases to NOK 480,600 during the period.
