The Faculty of Health Sciences consists of five departments and offers study programmes on all levels, including PhD. The faculty has about 6000 students and nearly 600 members of staff.

Department of Nursing and Health Promotion is located at all three campus: Kjeller, Pilestredet and Sandvika. The department has approximately 3000 students and 250 employees.

The Faculty of Health Sciences, the Department of Nursing and Health Promotion, has a vacancy for a temporary position as an associate professor in the field of theatre nursing. The temporary position is vacant from 1 January 2019 to 30 June 2019, with the possibility of an extension.

If no applicants with professor or associate professor qualifications apply, applicants may be appointed to a temporary position as an assistant professor.

Extensive research activity is conducted at the department, and several research groups have been established. The Faculty of Health Sciences has two PhD programmes, one in behavioural analysis and one in health sciences.

 

Main duties of the position

  • teaching/supervision throughout the programme, primarily in theatre nursing
  • R&D activities, publishing and disseminating research results
  • planning and coordinating academic and administrative tasks
  • participating in digitalised dissemination and communication
  • contributing to the development of the department’s academic activities
  • grading and development of assessment forms

You may also be asked to teach other relevant subject areas at the faculty.

 

We are looking for candidates who have

  • relevant higher education, preferably at PhD level
  • relevant master's and bachelor's degrees in nursing
  • advanced education in theatre nursing, or equivalent programmes for international applicants
  • relevant clinical experience
  • good oral and written skills in a Scandinavian language and English

If the candidate does not have the required skills in Norwegian or a Scandinavian language, he/she will be offered training to be able to carry out the tasks involved in the position and/or field of work.

 

It is an advantage if you also have

  • teaching and supervision experience at university college/university level
  • documented teaching qualifications
  • experience of digital learning platforms and methods

OsloMet will test teaching qualifications in connection with interviews.

The salary for the position is in accordance with the pay scale for state employees, code 1011 associate professor (førsteamanuensis) / 1198 associate professor (førstelektor) NOK 524,200–682,200 per year, or code 1009 assistant professor (universitetslektor) NOK 449,400–586,500. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants.
